Welcome to my website. My name is John Bowler.
I live in the West Midlands and have loved steam locomotives all my life since the early 1950's. I am a member and lineside permit holder of the Severn Valley Railway and a lineside permit holder at the West Somerset Railway.
This site features images of British steam locomotives at work on mainline railtours, preserved lines or on static display taken at various locations around the UK.
My inspiration for steam photography comes by way of Master Steam Photographer Dick Blenkinsop whose books I treasure, full of wonderful black and white photographs from the Golden Age of Steam.
